Ideal Vaastu home.


Vaastu, the ancient science of design and architecture, shows us how to create interior spaces so that they honor the rhythms that control the universe and establish harmony with ourselves and nature. At the very besic level, it is based on the positions and directions of various rooms and elements in our homes that facilitate a better and harmonious life.

Vaastu Tips for Drawing Room

Hang a painting of the rising sun or of natural beauty on the wall
Furniture should not be kept touching the east or north sidewall
East north corner should be kept empty
The head of the family should face east or north
Round shaped furniture should not be used
Any heavy Elmira or bookrack should be in the south or west wall
A/C or room heater should be fixed in the southeast wall
Study table should be kept in north, northwest or northeast
Water Cooler should never be kept in southeast
Clocks should not be hung on the south wall


Vaastu Tips for Guest Room

Northwest rooms are ideal for guests.

Dining room should be located in south, west, and east
Always use pink or orange or cream colors in the dining room
If your dining room is in any other direction then you should have food in the west side of the room
Dining room can be made in west side of the kitchen


Vaastu Tips for Bedroom


Use southwest corner room for the elder members
Always sleep with your head in the east or south side
While sleeping, your legs should not face the main gate
Avoid having direct light falling on your eyes while sleeping
Door should be of a single wood
It would be benefical for students to sleep in the west side
There should be no beam in the bedroom
Beds should be kept away from the walls
There should be no locker in the bedroom
Always keep the lockers in west or south side, so that the door of locker should always opens behind the north side or east side
Keep money in the north side
Locker used to keep money should be facing north direction
Build Almirah’s and wardrobes in the west or in south.


Vaastu Tips for Kitchen

Kitchen should not be made near or opposite the bathroom or toilet
Kitchen should not be opposite to the main entrance
Kitchen should not be below the staircase.
Raw food like wheat, ghee etc should be stored in the east
Kitchen should be made in southeast corner. Alternatively, it could be in the west side
Cooking appliances are to be kept in southeast corner in the kitchen
Loft or boxes can be made in any side of the kitchen
Heavy weight utensils should be kept against the south wall
While preparing food the person should face east
Refrigerator could be kept in south east, west or north side, but not in the northwest corner
Dining room can be made in west side of the kitchen
The electric appliances should be fixed at southeast corner
Fire equipments should be afixed in the southeast corner.


Vaastu Tips for Open Patio

The center portion of the house should always be kept clean and empty.

Basement should be built in the east, north or northeast side.

The depth of basement should be less than or equal to that of ground floor.

It is would be better to limit all construction in the middle of the basement field.

Leave equal spaces in all the four fields

Vaastu Tips for Door

No big stone, pillar or waste box should be in front of any door

Main door should never open in front of another house door

Kitchen should not be built opposite the main entrance

Doors should not be in south

Vaastu Tips for Bathroom


Bathroom should be built in southeast corner.

Mirror, Washbasin, Sink or Water Valve should be in northeast wall

The head of the bathing tub should be in the south side.

The Geyser or boiler should be in southeast corner.

The Washing machine should be kept in northwest corner

Shower, tap etc must be fixed in north wall

Bathroom should be built in east side

Walls should be of white or light blue color

The Bathroom should not be opposite the kitchen

Vaastu Tips for Compound

The thickness of the walls in the Southwest side should be thicker then the other walls

The construction work should proceed from east side to southward and then move to west northward

Garage should be built in northwest or southeast corner

Avoid any shadow on the main gate

The Kitchen should not be made opposite the main entrance

Trees should not be planted in front of the main gate

If required the mezzanine floors should be built in the west or south
